U17: Paris Saint-Germain vs Real Madrid Post Match Press Conference 22.02.2025

It was a tough match for both Paris
Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, which have already faced against each other in
the group stages, and while the result is a repeat of the previous game, PSG
Head Coach Yannick Dumas said the team is now focusing on the experience and
lessons they have gained from the tournament.

PSG lost 0-3 to Real Madrid in the finals to win
second place in the games.

“We were heading in there with the same
confidence, but however, this match just didn't work out in our favor, and the
score line is a result of that. Overall, I think from start to finish, the boys
brought a great effort and even up until the semi-finals, all the boys got the
chance to show their best effort and work as a team,” said Dumas.

He added that the players can improve on their
offense and how they can carry themselves moving on to next tournaments. He
added that team will go back to the drawing boards to further evaluate their
performance.

Also addressing the media after an eventful game
that saw their team win the championship title again after their 2020-win, Real
Madrid Head Coach Alvaro Lopez Bermejo expressed his satisfaction with his boys
for putting in their best effort and come back as two-time champions at the
tournament.

He went on to thank the tournament organisers
for providing an unforgettable experience for the players, who he reiterated
were very eager to win the finals.

In a previous interview, Bermejo noted that
three players from the 2020 winning team at the AlKass U-17 International Cup
have gone on to join professional football clubs. The athletes include Gonzalo
Garcia who is now a Real Madrid Castilla player who even scored an important
goal for his team recently; Mario Martin who has joined Real Valladolid; and
Nico Paz who also joined Real Valladolid last season.

“In 2020-2021, we did have people going on to
play professional teams. But us as a Real Madrid Academy, our goal is to
prepare each and every player that we have in our academy to be prepared for
the future and in pursuing football. Them being here in this tournament gives
them a lot of experience and insight into international football as a whole. So
I can say that all the players have a chance (pursue professional football in
the future),” Bermejo added.
